Eugene Gorman
CEO
Eugene has a formal education in Computer Science (QUT) and Accounting (Griffith Uni) and has over 25 years of experience supporting Queensland Businesses. He has a passion for customer service and a strong belief in the benefits that smart technology can provide all businesses. He is a founding member of Velvet Systems with a strong technical, consulting and project background.
Glenn Marshall
CFO
Glenn is an Electrical Engineer (Computer Systems) from UQ and has worked extensively throughout the IT and AV industries. A founding member of Velvet Systems, Glenn spent many years delivering AV solutions for corporate events. He oversees all aspects of financial control including planning, analysis and budget management.
Our history
Velvet Systems was born from a shared love of technology in the year 2000.
From humble beginnings, an electrical engineer and a software programmer constructed custom gaming and audio computers for friends and family from a small house in Brisbane’s suburban north. Reputation spread of the quality and value of these custom machines and a business was founded.
Initial clients happened to also include a few business owners and this resulted in a shift in focus to the corporate IT world and the beginnings of managed services.
With an unwavering commitment to supply quality services and equipment, the company outgrew the house, relocating twice to finally arrive at their present offices.
Over the years Velvet Systems has matured into a respected managed IT services provider for companies across Australia and the South Pacific. Where some products and services have changed over the years, the essence of the company has not. Quality of service combined with a love of technology is still at the very heart of Velvet Systems.
